Educational Career Choices

by on April 13th, 2010

Dork bots come from all walks of life. From artist to engineers, mechanics and technicians, we all share the same goal of getting together a few times throughout the year for a great time. Education is important to many dork bots, however education is not the only thing that proves to have interest in our lives.

For this reason many of us have chosen alternative higher education courses, schools and programs. The reason for this, is more times than none because of the amount of schooling time that is required to earn a degree in today’s colleges and universities. Technical, vocational and trade schools are becoming more and more available throughout different parts of the country. Technical schools are also functioning around a specific career field.

So if you are looking for diagnostic medical sonography schools in California, chances are that there will be a school that is designated specifically two different kinds of ultrasound and sonography courses. The same can be said with respiratory schools, x-ray technician schools, and even medical billing and coding schools.

Saving time is not the only advantage to attending a technical or vocational school. Often times when a student enrolls in a traditional university or college, they often times will be forced to learn about subjects that will have no benefit towards their careers future. These courses include basic maths, reading and writing along with the laxatives such as physical education programs.
Them may not be anything specifically wrong with these extra courses that students are required to take, however in many cases they are not necessary. What is the use in taking a class that is not necessary for the career field that you are pursuing?

Trade schools along with vocational schools offer a hands on training course for most technical careers, that allows a student to get the exact training that they will need once they leave school and head into the real world and workforce. Technical schools often times are a big part of the community and will have deep ties with many employers throughout the city or even state that they are located in. This will often times give students a great advantage when it comes to finding jobs once they have graduated with either a degree or certification. Technical schools even offer job placement programs that allow employers to visit the school and meet students while they are still training for specific career.

Technical schools are often times very career specific in the genre in which they teach as well. In most cases technical schools are geared towards, health or medical careers that teach towards a certain line of work. X ray technician schools will focus on courses and programs such as sonography, radiology, mri technology, medical billing and coding. IT technical schools will focus on technical courses such as computer aided drafting, networking and graphics. There are other forms of tech schools that focus on the arts, such as culinary and fine arts.

Community colleges also offer two year technical programs that can allow a student to get in and out of school with a degree or certification in as little as two years and sometimes even sooner than that. It is important to keep in mind that when selecting a school to attend that the school is accredited by the state. Attending an accredited school will make sure that your degree is legitimate and will also mean that you were given a good education and trained correctly for the career at hand.
